In the mid-1990s, Saget began appearing in a number of dramatic roles, including the television films By Dawn’s Early Light (1990) and No One Could Protect Her (1996). He also directed the 1996 HBO film For Hope, which was inspired by the life of his sister, Gay Saget, who died of scleroderma.
In the 2000s, Saget returned to television comedy, appearing as a regular on the ABC sitcom Surviving Suburbia (2009–2010) and the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother (2005–2014). He also had a recurring role on the Netflix original series Fuller House (2016–2018).

Bob Saget is the father of three daughters, Aubrey, Lara and Alexandra. He also has two stepdaughters, Hannah and Olivia. His wife, Kelley, is a stay-at-home mom. Saget has been married twice, first to Sherri Kramer from 1982 to 1997. In 2018 he married Kelly Rizzo. They remained married until his death in January 2023.
