On April 14, 1975, Amy Christine Dumas was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to her mother Christine and her father Michael Dumas. During her youth and adolescence, she moved about a lot, so she went to a lot of different schools in Florida.

Somehow, she could finish high school at Lassiter High School, located near Atlanta, six months before she graduated.

She attended Georgia State University intending to major in education but left in 1993 because she believed that the university was too much like high school.
