iCloud Music Library allows you to sync all your music across all of your devices. You must subscribe to Apple Music or iTunes Match in order to use it. However, some users prefer to disable iCloud Music Library to protect their music from streaming servers that may be unstable.

What Is The iCloud Music Library?
iCloud Music Library, a feature built into iOS and macOS, allows users to sync their playlists, albums, songs across all Apple devices using the same Apple account. It works in the same way as the iCloud Photo Library.
It will allow you to access all your music purchased and unpurchased across your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Although it offers great ease for users to manage their songs, it does have some drawbacks. We’ve listed them below.

Important Notice: After disabling iCloud Music Library off, you should make a backup of all your music because you will lose all of any saved songs from the Apple music catalog. If you do not care about music, disable iCloud Music Library from your device.
What Happens If You Disable iCloud Music Library
If you turn off iCloud Music Library, you cannot access Cloud-based copy of your Mac’s iTunes library. In addition, you’ll no longer access your Mac Matched or uploaded tracks to stream on the other devices and any saved songs to the Apple Music Catalog.
Even if the iCloud Music Library is off, you will still be able to access purchased iTunes content across all your devices, regardless of whether iCloud is enabled.
You won’t have access to your music library on any of your devices if you sign out of Apple ID or cancel your Apple Music or iTunes Match subscription.
You don’t need it, but you still want to enjoy Apple Music. This is how you can use Apple’s subscription without it.
Suppose you don’t want your primary music collection to be separated but want some of your songs to sync to other devices. In that case, you can use it to create a secondary iTunes library.
How Do I Turn Off iCloud Music Library on iPhone/iPad
Step 1: To open the Settings app on your ios devices, tap it.
Step 2: Scroll down until the “Music” icon is reached and tap it.
Step 3: Make sure the option to toggle off “Sync Library” is located next to it. It will turn grey to indicate disabling icloud music library on iPhone
How To Turn iCloud Music Library Off On Your Mac
Step 1: Open the Apple Music App on your Mac. If you don’t have macOS Catalina, you can open iTunes app.
Step 2: Tap“Music” in the top-left corner of the screen. In the drop-down menu bar select “Preferences”
Step 3: Locate the box marked “Sync Library” in the “General” tab within the Preferences window and uncheck it. This box will not be checked if you don’t subscribe to Apple Music, or if iTunes Match subscription is not being used.
Step 4: To save the changes, click on “OK” at bottom.
How To Disable iCloud Music Library On A PC
Step 1: Open Apple Music on any computer.
Step 2: Click on “Edit” near the top of your screen. Select “Preferences” when the drop-down box appears.
Step 3: Uncheck the box next to “iCloud Music Library.” Similar to the Mac, if you do not currently subscribe to Apple Music or iTunes Match, this box will not be checked.
Step 4: Save your changes by clicking “OK”.
