Why Can’t I Add Music To My Instagram Stories?
Are you having difficulty adding music to your Instagram Stories? You could have a few causes for this glitch.
The music sticker was initially only available in “selected countries” when it was first introduced. These included Australia, New Zealand, and France.
Since then, the music feature has been expanded further, with Canada added to the list in 2020.
Unfortunately, if you don’t live in one of these countries, you have no other options than to wait.
- It could be that the feature is not working in your country.
- Your app must be updated. Instagram regularly releases new updates. You may simply be using an older version of the app.
- A business account is used. Business accounts might have more popular songs than they do royalty-free due to licensing restrictions. Instead, you could change to an Instagram creator account.
- You are sharing a branded content advertisement. Instagram rules for branded content ads state that GIFs, music, and emojis should be avoided.
We are unsure when other countries will access the music sticker or if Instagram will alter its licensing restrictions for business accounts. However, we will keep you informed.
