Testing Edifier’s whole bookshelf speaker lineup was impressive because I have had an opportunity to discover the changes between each speaker and the following increases in pricing.

Thus far, each speaker was a worthy update over its predecessor, and the S1000DB exemplifies this assumption in both feel and design as Edifier’s latest flagship at the Asia Pacific.

But using the identical 120W RMS power output since the R2000DB, the Edifier S1000Db signifies more refinement over absolute power growth. Do these refinements produce a product that justifies the considerably higher entry cost just shy of AUD 700? Let Fidlar find out.

One thing that makes the Edifier bookshelf speakers S1000DB stick out from other Edifier layouts is that their entrance is angled. This has been done to raise the image projection, but it will give them an exceptional aesthetic allure.

Build Quality

The build quality is extraordinary. It is; these are so incredibly powerful. I bruised my knuckle, knocking the other side of those!

Edifier has paid particular attention to the finer’s details. The result is spectacular. They’ve guaranteed the final product is virtually perfect. The speakers fit together nicely, without mismatched borders or scuffed end to the wood or plastic textures.

I mentioned previously that these items are heavy! They’re, even the speaker has a little weight to it. Edifier did not use cheap materials in the construction.

I have not plucked up the courage to induce you to learn what precisely the internals look like. Maybe, in the long run, I’ll!

Courtesy of Bluetooth at Edifier asserts the speakers encourage premium excellent loading, a promise I discovered mostly substantiated across several platforms such as; Spotify, Deezer, and YouTube.

Trialed for almost a month with regular usage, there were no cases where Bluetooth connection dropped outside. Audio quality stayed clear, crisp, and customizable through the back dials.

Audio Quality

Technical or maybe not, I locate that the angled front of these speakers quite visually attractive. It makes them stick out among the standard layout of differently body speakers. But, Edifier asserts that the layout feature enhances the audio quality, which is a welcome inclusion.

In general, the bass comes through deep, hot, and lively and is unbelievably tight. The brass dial is easy to restrain and is simple to gauge a dimension.

The S1000DB’s treble functions with an innovative titanium dome tweeter, with features no significant distortion despite increasing quantity amounts. I was severely impressed.

In summary, upbeat pop and party songs sound great. Mellow songs with desktop bass are incredibly moving.

But, I’ll state the speakers’ mid-range power does come up a little short compared to other speakers I have trialed within this budget.

Heavy vocal tracks don’t perform as uniquely as some other speakers I have attempted. But I am merely somewhat picky, mainly due to the product’s relative price.

The S1000Db active bookshelf speakers are nearly perfect; the one thing I believe letting down these was Bluetooth Connectivity; I fought to link my iPhone on more than one occasion. It appeared to have some time but did finally connect.

Maybe background Bluetooth signs or anything else was afoot; it was not sufficient to set me off providing them an ideal 10/10, though.
