Moreno decided he wanted to lose weight when he was 12 years old, so his mother enrolled him in the local Entram Gym and he began training in mixed martial arts.

While he had intended to attend college and then law school to become a lawyer, he quickly realized that he wanted to pursue a career in mixed martial arts after beginning his training. He trained hard throughout his adolescence and began competing at the amateur level.


Moreno made his professional MMA debut in Mexico in April of 2011. He had a 6-3 record in his first two years of professional baseball. He made his World Fighting Federation debut in 2014 and went on to go 5-0 undefeated.

He eventually won the Flyweight division championship. He was cast in the Flyweight tournament on the 25th season of “The Ultimate Fighter” as a result of his success.
